Gokyo Ri Trek
Gokyo trek is one of the best alternative trekking routes in Everest region. It is a wonderful trekking holiday in this region. This trek offers you an amazing and excellent view of Mountains, Glacier, Lakes, and blue sky. Ngozumba Glacier is one of the largest glaciers of Nepal. The highest mountains above 8,000m included in this region such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu and Mt. Makalu are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri above Gokyo lake. You will get an opportunity to see the real lifestyle of Sherpa people and their culture. A standout amongst the most surprising element is the perspectives of the enormous ice edge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung situated in Khumbu area. The sparkling pristine blue and green waters of the Gokyo Lakes are the best memorable sight. This trek is for those individuals who need to trek in Everest locale and need more assortments of perspectives and invest night at high elevation.
After 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu and landing at Lukla airstrip, you begin the adventure. This trek follows up Dudh Koshi River towards Namche, the gateway of Khumbu region. After Namche, we leave the main busy trail and take left trail towards the sleepy village of Phortse Thenga, Dole and Machhermo. Finally, we reach our Destination called Gokyo Lake and an afternoon you can explore the village and go to Hill to see Ngozumba Glacier. Early in the morning wake up and climb a steep hill to the Gokyo Ri and have outstanding views and capture in your camera. Get back the same way through Namche and take flight Lukla to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)
Welcome to the Land of Mountain! Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our representative waiting for holding Popular Treks signboard with your name on it will transfer to the hotel. You may take rest throughout the day or you can stroll around the city if you feel energetic after your flight. We will give you a short brief about our trip in the evening. Overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Trek preparation
Today is the day you can do preparation for your Everest Base Camp trek including shopping some lacking equipment, exchange extra money, and another necessary arrangement for the trek. By the end of the day, you should be ready for your Everest base camp trek with your bag packed. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,610m) (3 hours)
From Kathmandu to Lukla by flight, it takes 40 minutes and walks to Phakding 3 hours. Your first footstep starts from Lukla. After passing PasangLhamu Memorial Gate you will see white chorten who died in Yeti Airlines in 2008. The greenery views and mani wall attract your concentration. You can capture numerous pictures on camera on the way to Phakding. Overnight in the tea house at Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) (5/6 hours)
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley north. After a short distance waterfall is welcoming you. There is excellent views stop from where you can have a glimpse of Thamserku Mountain. The place called Monjo you will enter Sagarmatha National Park which was established in 1976. Finally quiet tough ascends to reach in Namche Bazaar. Overnight in the teahouse at Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Kyangjuma (3,550m) (5/6 hours)
Namche Bazaar is the homeland of Sherpa people. The trail ascends up with a zigzag path to Everest View Hotel. Having a cup of hot tea you can see the panoramic views of mountain including Mt. Everest. We will explore Khumjung Gompa, School, and Khunde Hospital. Sir Edmund Hillary builds the school in Khumjung. If you like you can hike to School and Khumjung Gompa where you can see Yeti skull. After Lunch continues walking to Kyangjuma.Overnight in the teahouse at Kyangjuma. Day 06: Kyangjuma to Dole (4,110m) (4/5 hours)
At Kyangjuma, we turned off the main trail and begin climbing to the Mong La, marked by a chorten on the top of a ridge at 3,973m. This ridge descends from Mt. Khumbila. Mong La is the small village which is said that the birthplace of Lama Sange Dorje, the saint who introduced Buddhism to the Khumbu. The trail drops steeply on switchbacks through pine forests for an hour, with intermittent views towards Phortse. From Phortse, the trail starts to climb uphill through rhododendron forests, which give way to juniper and conifers higher up the valley. The army post and national park check post at Tongba (3,950m) are not currently in use. We continued our uphill trek and some enormous boulders and summer settlement used by Sherpas to graze their yaks, before coming to Dole, where we have lovely views of Mt. Khumbila and Mt. Tawoche. Overnight in the teahouse at Dole.

Day 07: Dole to Machhermo (4,470m) (2/3hours)
Today is a short day to walk, from Dole to Machhermo. From Dole, the trail is a steep climb up throughout the forest an increasingly barren hillside covered by tundra grasses and dotted scrub junipers. Continue to Lhabarma and Luza along the side of the valley, high above the river through scrub junipers until we cross the sandy spurs to Machhermo. Local people claim that a yeti killed three yaks and attacked a Sherpa woman in 1974. We will reach to Machhermo by lunchtime and in the afternoon time for acclimatization walk up to ridge behind the lodge for amazing views of Mt. Thamserku. North end of the village, there is International Porter Protection Group rescue post, staffed by international volunteer medics. They provide emergency treatment to trekkers and porters. Overnight in the teahouse at Machhermo.

Day 08: Machhermo to Gokyo (4,790m) (4/5hours)
We begin today by climbing a ridge for an excellent view down the valley to Mt. Kangtaiga and also up towards Mt. Cho-Oyu (the sixth highest mountain in the world). Now we will soon accessible to the tiny settlement of Pangka. An avalanche killed 40 trekkers in 1995 nearby Panka. The trail descends to the river onto the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpo Glacier. Crossing an iron bridge over a stream, the trail levels out as it follows the valley past the first lake, known Longponga Tsho (4,710m) where a family of Brahmin ducks has been living for years. At the sight of the second lake, Taboche Tsho, We become mesmerized by the shimmering turquoise blue sheet of water sparkling in the sun. After a second lake, we reach third lake, the linked by a surging stream. Gokyo is a small settlement of lodges on the shore of a blue lake. Overnight in the teahouse at Gokyo.

Day 09: Early in the morning hiking up to Gokyo Ri and explore lakes.
On this day, we wake up early to climb the Gokyo Ri, which hangs above the Gokyo village at the northern edge of the lake. It takes 3 hours to reach the top of Gokyo Ri. From here, we grasp the Himalayas, especially Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Gyachuna, Cho Oyu and other peaks as well as the longest glacier. After capturing all of the views in camera, we back to our lodge and explore up to fourth and fifth lakes of Gokyo. Overnight in the teahouse at Gokyo.

Day 10: Trek from Gokyo to Dole (4,110m) 4/5 hours
After having breakfast, we descend the same route before we came. We follow the Dudh Koshi River and pass 3 lakes. On the way back you can enjoy the stunning views of mountain Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, Thamserku and Cho Oyu. After passing Machhermo, Luza and Lhafarma villages we reach Dole. Overnight in the teahouse at Dole.

Day 11: Trek from Dole to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) 4/5 hours
Today the trail goes steeply down to Phortse Thanga through cascades, rhododendrons and wild plants. Again it gonna climb with the zigzag path on top of Mong La from where the views are awesome. Now from here, we continue down to Kyangjuma where we stayed last time. Continue further we reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight in the teahouse at Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840m) 6/8 hours
Our last day of trekking returns us to the town of Lukla, where the overnight stay gives you an opportunity to investigate the town and also reflect upon the mountains you have as of late gone to for one final time before going to Kathmandu. Overnight in the teahouse at Lukla.

Day 13: Lukla to Kathmandu (1,350m) by Air and transfer to hotel.
Early morning, we take a flight back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you deserve a good rest. You may spend your time shopping around Himalayan souvenirs for your friends and family. Overnight in hotel at Kathmandu.

Day 14: Free day with the sightseeing tour.
A reserve or spare day in Kathmandu in case of flight delay or cancellation due to bad weather which occurs sometimes, as Himalayan weather can be unpredictable if all goes well enjoy the extra day with the tour around Kathmandu. It is the usual practice for clients to invite their guides/porters to share a farewell dinner and exchange a khata (ceremonial scarf) If you have been happy with the service provided by the guide a tip is given. Relive your experiences of the trek around the dinner table and enjoy your last night in Kathmandu. Tomorrow you will fly home. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Final departure
Our Gokyo trek ends today with your departure. Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight, our representative will pick you up from the hotel to drop you to the international airport for your flight to onward destination.
