Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek
The Langtang and Gosaikunda trek is a beautiful journey in Nepal, through lush forests, quaint villages, abundant wildlife and astounding views of the majestic Himalayas. This trek combines the remote and spectacular valley of Langtang with the high mountain lakes at Gosaikunda. It is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu, close to the border of Tibet. The valley is dominated by Langtang Lirung, the highest peak in the area. This area is populated by Tamang and Sherpa inhabitants. Langtang Gosaikunda trek takes you to the holy lake of Gosaikunda, a lake which is especially important, (in a religious sense) to the Hindu people. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims from Nepal, India and other countries visit Gosaikunda to pay homage to Shiva, the Hindu god of creation every year. As well as its religious value, people also visit this place for its natural beauty and geographical setting. Without a doubt, Gosaikunda is regarded as a sacred place for Shamans, (the traditional witch doctors), as well as both Hindus and Buddhists. It is believed that once you bathe in this holy lake all your pain, sorrows and sins will be washed off. During your trek, our Guide will explain everything about the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek of Nepal.
